(posted late but photos taken on 8/25)
Wow, 7 months...he's closer in age to a 1 year old than he is a newborn, so naturally, I'm itching for another!
So often throughout the day, Solly reminds me of a big boy and not a baby--he's independent, determined, curious, and pretty laid back (most of the time..but he does have a temper!). This past month, Solly finally stopped sleeping swaddled and now snuggles with his swaddle blankets all night/nap long. Solly is not much of a snuggler anymore--he he prefers to be watching and interacting with the world rather than snuggled close with his mama. Solly LOVES food and eats whatever it is we're eating (cut up into small pieces). Fruit is his favorite but he eats anything that we put on his tray. He still nurses but not as often now that he eats food. Solly also gave up his pacifier this past month. As I said, he's all grown up!
Our big guy can get himself into the crawl position and does the crawl rock but no forward crawl motion yet. I'm sure it won't be long as Solly is very motivated to get his hands on whatever it is that Jane is playing with. Jane does not appreciate the sharing toys rule that we have in out house. So often when Solly heads over to Jane's toys, she tells Solly, "All me's [all mine]!" and takes her toys back or prevents Solly from getting his hands on her toys. Solly gets mad, and Jane quips, "Why Solly mad?!?" She totally knows why Solly is mad! We are working on the sharing concept and slowly getting there.
Favorites at 6 months include Jane, being outside, chewing toys, playing with whatever Jane has, exploring the world around him, playing in water, his blanket, and eating. Happy 7 months Solly. Although I miss the little baby you were, I love the big boy that you are!
these were the most challenging monthly photos thus far. Solly kept trying to crawl away or chew on the calendar. He refused to lay on his back.
