Happy Easter!!

Easter Baskets

Life is harder with two!  I didn't get any pictures of either kid with their Easter baskets. Jane found Solly's Easter basket in the big bath tub and her Easter basket in the dryer.

Easter Eggs
she started out using a spoon

but soon started using her hands

Notice I am only pointing, not helping.  Jane did not want me to do any.

too busy to pose with Mommy

showing Daddy her egg

Love this photo!  Each egg was dyed multiple times!

This egg is one two colors.  Advanced egg dyeing techniques from our 2yo!

(finished eggs, Jane cracks open all the eggs)

Easter Egg Hunt
Jane knows these letters and whose name begins with each letter.
All the eggs were labeled.  Jane found the eggs and distributed them to their
owners.  And she only stole 1 piece of candy that didn't belong to her!

(Jane found an egg with a J,  mmm! candy!)

Jane found Solly's eggs (he got socks and new pacifiers)

Solly was worn out from the day's festivities and a little cranky.
But he looks adorable in the new hat that he got in his Easter basket!

Jane's Easter Art
we were going to make these for grandparents but
Jane liked doing them so much that we made a few extras

painting big foam Easter eggs

We made our own lift the flap.  We glued eggs in the
grass and covered them with post it notes.  We repeated
this project countless times!

Bunny Ears
Of course Erik thought I was torturing our children when I took these photos...
but I think they are so, so ADORABLE!!!  Jane had fun (for the most part)
and Solly didn't seem to mind too much.

Solly rocks the purple Bumbo

His head is still a little wobbly but he is ready for the Bumbo for a brief sit.

Just look at this chubby face--so adorable!
Mama wants to get in on this photo session, too!  Solly has a spitty mouth...this is normal for him. I know he keeps some down because he is so chubby,  but a lot comes back up...
Solly doesn't stay in the chair very long.  Sometimes he tires of it but usually he gets kicked out.

Just look at that 2 year old sas!

Happy 2 months

Solly is 2 months old today!  Solly is rapidly growing out of the newborn stage.

-  He lost his newborn cry.  He has several different cries, including an angry cry that he often gives Jane when she's helping him move his limbs to "gaaahh" (get) his toys.

-  He's HUGE!  He grew out of his 0-3 month clothes.  And he's chubby...I know that's how babies are supposed to be.  We're just not used to it because Jane was a skinny little baby.

-  He still loves the baby carrier but he also likes to stretch and kick around on the floor.

-  Solly still likes to be swaddled during sleep and several awake times throughout the day.  He is so big his feet often peek out the bottom of the swaddle.

-  He is crabby if he doesn't nap in his crib.  He actually naps really well in his crib and is starting to fall into a schedule.  In the evenings, he wakes up and screams whenever placed in his crib.  He prefers to be held and snuggled until mama's ready to go to bed (he still sleeps with me).  I love the snuggles but I don't get anything done at night.

-  Solly is becoming more social.  He smiles and coos and watches people as they move around the room.

-  Solly likes baths, walks outside, time to kick around on the floor, sleep, and lights.

-  Solly doesn't care for the car seat, his bouncy seat, the swing, or vacations/day trips away from home.

Happy Spring

Yesterday we woke up to snow!  It was really beautiful outside, so we bundled up and went out to play!

Jane liked sledding down the driveway

Later that afternoon, we went on a walk in search of puddles

Jane was happy to see that there was still snow on the ground this morning!

Hard to believe that THIS POST was only about 1 year ago...
